Donna Karan skirt, Vince tee, Givenchy heels, BCBGMAXAZIRA clutch
A useful styling rule to employ when putting an outfit together is to have one item as the statement piece to elevate the rest of the look. This way you don’t end up looking like a disco ball, with lots of different areas stealing the attention of onlookers. This way you can also have a relatively low cost outfit, made up on simple wardrobe essentials with just one big investment piece. If you are going to make the commitment, a bag or pair of shoes is without doubt the item of choice. I’m personally drawn to an investment item that has hardware as it bring a contrast to the rest of the outfit.
An item i’m also quite taken to at the moment is the statement skirt. A skirt that has a architectural design that can stand apart against a plain tee. I’m personally a believer, at least at the moment of investing in bottoms and skimping on tops. The tops are always the pieces that seem to wear more quickly, so putting more of the your money into a skirt makes a lot more sense than a top.
