Black Ellery Dress, Windsor Smith lace up heels, Saint Laurent bag

I have an issue with the term ‘Little Black Dress’. I know its meant to insinuate ‘little’ in more of a ‘oh this little thing?’ kind of way rather than in size, however I can’t help but always visualise short and tight when the phrase is used, which as you can gather doesnt sit well with me! My personal favourite kind of black dress is the knee length and midi variety, although a floor length maxi goes down a treat as well.

I wore this Ellery dress to a recent event and I felt so much more put together due to the hem being longer. I also love how these heels create this interesting pattern, filling the gap left from the mid length hemline.
