DENIM SERIES . CLASSIC BLACK

Posted on April 25th, 2013

Paige black jeans, Bassike t-shirt, Saint Laurent heels

If there is just ONE thing you take away from this denim series, its that you NEED a pair of black jeans. I couldn't live without them. They're slimming like no other and go with everything. To me its amazing how chic a striped tee and black jeans can look with a pair of heels. You always look your best when you're comfortable in what you're wearing and if you're having one of those days where you feel like you look horrendous in everything (we all have them every now and then) then you can turn to your pair of black jeans and everything will be alright. I would even suggest getting two pairs just incase one of them is in the wash!

Jeans and top are available now at selected David Jones stores and online.

DENIM SERIES . BLUE AND SKINNY

J Brand jeans, Bassike tank

Nothing beats a pair of go to blue skinny jeans and pairing it with a relaxed style white tank. My favourite weekend off duty outfit by far! Shoes are clearly optional.

DENIM SERIES . HIGH WAIST

Posted on April 23rd, 2013

Cheap Monday Jeans, Bassike knit top, Senso heels.

Whenever I think of high waist jeans I get a little uncomfortable as to me they seem too trend orientated and sometimes aren't very flattering. Its all about how you style them though, as these super stretchy and dark charcoaled Cheap Monday jeans are amazing and worn with a slightly cropped knit, which may have been an awkward length on a lower rised jean works perfectly with the high rise cut.

DENIM SERIES . BOYFRIEND

Posted on April 22nd, 2013

Bassike leather top, Current Elliot boyfriend jeans, Saint Laurent heels

This week I'm teaming up with Australian department store David Jones to bring you a Denim series just in time for you to be adding some key styles to your wardrobe this Autumn Winter!

Jeans are one of those pieces that we all love and need but can sometimes be really tricky and downright exhausting to find a style that suits your shape and also to get your right size, basically to find your denim soul mate! I might not be able to help too much on the size situation, but I would like to open up your eyes to five styles and colours that I like to turn to and are easy to style and work in with the rest of your wardrobe.

First up we have the boyfriend jean by Current Elliot. These were a DREAM to wear and are so soft and comfortable. Also, I always enjoy when the distressed and bleached areas have been thought through as the lighter tones when cleverly used can be quite slimming, which we always appreciate!

CROP ON TOP

Topshop oversized t-shirt dress, Dion Lee top, Senso boots, Christopher Kane clutch, Karen Walker 'Anytime' sunglasses

I love this cropped top by Dion Lee and have been meaning to style it up on the blog for a little while. I've actually worn it under a few pieces as its the perfect high neckline that I love, but I think you need to see all its details to really appreciate it.

I have a love/hate relationship with crop tops. Sometimes they can look amazing and chic, and other times they can look downright tacky. To try and nail the more chic look try to layer yours up over a t-shirt or singlet. You may have to play with the proportions a bit, either wearing a cropped length like mine over a longer lined top, or go the opposite and wear a higher crop with a normal length t-shirt.
