STOP AND BREATHE

Posted on May 17th, 2013

Isabel Marant jeans, Kahlo tank, Saint Laurent heels, Witchery belt, Swarovski rose gold ring.

Sometimes I feel like my job is never done. I'm yet to go to bed and know that in 5 hours I need to wake up to catch a flight. I still need to pack and I keep remembering things I forgot to do today, things I still need to do or things I need to remember to remember in the future.... this all makes sense in my own head!

I'm looking forward to being on the plane tomorrow and literally switching off for a few hours. I find flights very cleansing for me. I alway pack a note book and manage to spend most of my time writing down what I think are brilliant ideas, which most likely are never looked at again.

Even though i'm technically on holiday I'll still make sure to keep you updated on what i'm getting up to. For up to the minute snapshots you can always follow me on instagram.

Now, what about this outfit! I'm obsessed with my cropped Isabel Marant jeans and of course my Kahlo tank that I will be with me till the very end.

WEARING THE PANTS

Posted on May 8th, 2013

Dion Lee shirt, J Brand leather pants, Balmain boots, Swarovski watch

There are two types of leather pants, the first is the leather leggings where just like a normal pair of legging you wear them with longer length tops and they're the first piece for layering. This is the type that I've had in my wardrobe for the past couple of years and without doubt they are brilliant, but there have been occasions where I've really wanted to wear them with particular outfits, but due to their legging variety have been unable to.

This is where the second type of leather pants come in, the ones that are actually pants and have all the styling benefits of wearing a pair of jeans... but in leather, and who doesn't want that! Both styles have their necessary benefits, but now that I have both its opened my world up to a bunch of new styling opportunities. Oh the possibilities!

MARBLE

Posted on May 5th, 2013

Josh Goot dress, Saint Laurent heels.

I had the pleasure of wearing this marble effect Josh Goot corset dress during fashion week and it is incredible. I wore it over a pair of black leather pants and my black pumps for a bit of layering fun. Sadly I don't have any full length pictures but here are some I shot separately. Its the kind of dress you can wear by itself but also would be amazing layered over a tank and/or leather pants for a bit of difference and to play down its dressiness.

I havent been able to find the dress version that i'm wearing online but here is the top section in black as well as white and the white skirt is in the link above.

First shot is by Zanita, 2nd/3rd by Leila.

Lover lace dress, Proenza Schouler leather jacket, Saint Laurent heels, Christopher Kane clutch.

While typing out what I'm wearing I realised this outfit is a little pricey. I don't usually care which designers I wear together but realised I threw together some of my favourite investment pieces and all worn together, although I love this outfit, has an above average price tag.

That being said and noted, and also trying to provide links to the items and brands that I am wearing, I also thought I might put together a 'get the look for less' type of thing. Let me know if you like this and find it helpful! I'm a mad online shopper so I find searching the web for bargains quite fun!

White Lace Dress 1) $150 from Shopbop. 2) Under $150 from Topshop

Leather Jacket 1) Under $350 from Topshop. 2) Under $1000 from Shopbop

Black clutch 1) under $250 from shopbop. 2) Under $60 from Asos

Black Pump 1) Under $300 from Shopbop. 2) Under $50 from Asos.

DENIM SERIES . WHITE WASH

Posted on April 26th, 2013

Rag and Bone jeans, Jac + Jack shirt, Senso heels

Since I wear so much black its refreshing from time to time to be able to style an outfit without use a pair of black or leather pants. White jeans can be tricky but when done right they are sensational and have definitely earned their place in a denim must list.

I must add though unless you're one of the lucky ones with slim long legs (haven't you won the jackpot!) I would recommend wearing them with a heel of some variety to help lengthen, as white doesn't have the same natural slimming qualities as our best friend the black jean!

And that concludes my 5 part Denim series!

Let me know which style has been your favourite and if there are any other must have styles you recommend, would love to know! xx

Jeans and top are available now at selected David Jones stores and online.
