How to Wear Denim Shorts. Part 1 of 3

Equipment silk shirt, One Teaspoon denim shorts, Tom Gunn for Gary Bigeni heels.

I've been wanting to do a post like this for a while, showing how to wear a particular item in a few different ways, to a) get the most out of your wardrobe and b) to help you get dressed in the morning and in this case avoid a faux pas!

What better way to begin than with the classic pair of denim shorts, which will soon be on the highest of rotations with the Australian summer coming into season.

I bring you: How to wear denim shorts... without looking like you're going to a festival. Part 1 of 3.

I have an absolutely loath for the look of denim shorts which have been cut too high so you can see a girls bottom hanging out. Let me make this clear: This is not OK, whether you're 16 or 26, super slim or curvy. Keep your modesty and add a few inches to the hem. You can look cute and chic in denim shorts without showing it all and i'm going to attempt to show you how.

Firsty, team it with something we should all have in our wardrobes. A button up white shirt. And if not currently in yours you should go purchase one, trust me, its an investment that you will wear over and over again.
I've use an Equipment silk shirt with a slight print, but any silk or light cotton will do the trick. Leave it hanging out, do a half tuck, tuck it all in and put a belt on, do all the buttons up, only half button it, throw a necklace on, honestly there are so many options to make this look yours.

Need a white shirt? Here are some options to make your life easier.

Acne ($200-$250), Topshop (under $100), Asos (under $50), Equipment ($250-$300).
